New York City native AC Lincoln began tap dancing at the age of 5. AC and his sister Emily King began performing soon after with parents, Jazz singing duo Kim Kalesti and Marion Cowings. AC was brought up in the NYC tap “hoofer” scene. AC furthered his dance education while sharing the stage with such tap dance greats as Jimmy Slyde, Savion Glover and Buster Brown. Following in the foot steps of the fore mentioned original hoofers, AC would frequently perform with Traci Mann’s group “The Young Hoofers”. At the age of 16, AC took to writing, producing, singing and performing his own music. Mr. Lincoln has been featured at many notable venues and festivals including The Caramoor Jazz Festival, Lake George Jazz Festival, The Blue Note, The Standard Hotel, Smalls Jazz club, The Players and Rockwood Music Hall. AC Lincoln has been the featured dancer for Mercedes Ellington, Vince Giordano and The Night Hawks, Sean McLeod and the NYIDE, and Winard Harper & Jeli Posse. AC Lincoln has most recently released an EP ‘YLG The EP’ and has been on tour as a featured tap dancer with The Hot Sardines. In anticipation of his full length album, AC Lincoln has been performing original music, singing and dancing with his own band.
